The TBK-V is the 5th generation Universal Transponder Bypass Kit (Ignition Key Required), designed to temporarily bypass most OEM RFID transponder type ignition immobilizer systems including select Mercedes & BMW for installing remote starting systems. The TBK-V operates by using one of the vehicles spare ignition keys to transmit the original keys uniquely coded RF ID to the Receiver coil in the ignition key cylinder. The coded signal identifies to the vehicles computer that a valid key is present thereby enabling the fuel management system. The TBK-V will only operate as a transponder bypass when the vehicle has been remote started. As soon as either the brake is depressed or an ignition key is inserted into the key cylinder the Transponder Bypass Kit (TBK-V) shuts off.
The TBK-V also includes a unique "Mercedes" keysense circuit installation option which effectively opens up the circuit of the factory transceiver (key cylinder) so it does not detect the RF ID of the drivers key. Mercedes vehicles are designed to identify the detection of two RFID at once as a security breach and will put the anti-theft system into tamper mode and eliminate the detected RFID's as authorized users and prevent the vehicle from being started.
